Big Caslon CC
Design Information
Unlike the consistent text faces by William Caslon, the three largest sizes made by the Caslon foundry are uncommon. Perhaps they were the work of another — or he was in a bold mood? While Caslon’s text types have been revived, the forceful and a touch eccentric display sizes had no revival until Carter & Cone’s Big Caslon. This version, designed by Matthew Carter, expands on the timelessness of the display face and allows for new uses. Available in Regular, Bold, and Black and companion italics.
